Transformation of Contemporary Societies

Outlook

The researchers working in the “Transformation of Contemporary Societies” main research area continued to build their existing research interests within the three main areas of enquiry and beyond in 2014 and 2015 with many new projects and new research themes. Since the winter semester of 2014/2015, the main research area has been supporting one-day events to give researchers an opportunity to develop interesting research topics with other members.

The theme development workshops organized by the main research area have been and in the coming years will continue to be a source of new and highly interdisciplinary initiatives. The new initiatives have already produced their first successes in attracting external funding. By offering the potential for new collaborations within the main research area, they will be interesting and promising points of reference for the years to come.

Many other research projects on topics surrounding the transformation of contemporary societies, including work being developed and advanced by early career researchers, are currently in preparation.
