The University of Miskolc (Hungary) awarded the “Signum Aureum Universitatis” to Professor Dieter Schramm (Chair of Mechatronics) in 2010 for his contributions to the development of research cooperation between Germany and Hungary. The DECHEMA, the GDCh and the Willy-Hager Foundation awarded Professor Rolf Dieter Gimbel the Willy Hager Medal for lifetime achievement in 2010. The award was granted in recognition of his accomplishments and 
contributions to the treatment of drinking water.
