Cooperation and International News

The scientists at the Department of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology also work directly with a range of partners from research and industry on a national and international basis. The following selection of cooperative projects is therefore by no means exhaustive.

Cooperation already established by Optoelectronics within the European Initial Training Network MITEPHO is set to intensify further under “FiWIN5G” and “RAPID”. This will step up scientific collaboration and the exchange of doctoral students between leading universities in Europe, including University College London and the Technical University of Denmark, and numerous well-respected industrial partners such as Rohde & Schwarz, Ericsson, THALES, BAE Systems, Alcatel-Lucent, Finisar, Corning, Siklu and Hitachi.

Various research projects on topics including graphene, quantum dot LEDs or magneto-optical semiconductors have been conducted by Electronic Materials and Nanostructures with partners such as Princeton University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Seoul, Evonik Industries AG and Osram AG and have attracted international regard for their findings.

General and Theoretical Electrical Engineering is working on a range of research projects with partners from home and abroad, including the Universities of Heidelberg, Magdeburg and Zurich and the Knappschaft University Hospital in Bochum, to name a representative selection.
