Faculty of Humanities

Consisting of 14 departments and research units, the Humanities are a faculty with a broad academic profile. The humanities in general are characterised  by methodological and epistemological plurality, whether research results are achieved in networks and teams or individual projects – the latter still playing a crucial role that will continue into the future. The faculty’s disciplines and departments are united in their aim of reflecting scientifically on human culture from both a synchronic and a diachronic perspective.

This claim is reflected by our faculty’s five research focuses, which we successively present in the UDE’s research reports. After reports on Urbanity (2010–12) and Migration and Multilingualism (2012–14), this text highlights two successful years of work in the field of Identity, Interculturalism, and Gender.
