Intro

In this report, the Faculty of Humanities presents “Language, Interaction and Media”, the fourth of its six main research areas. The three keywords represent central areas of interest in the humanities. The projects in our Faculty that fall under these three categories are accordingly broad in their scope.

Although the thematic focus may differ, however, a development becomes apparent in the research itself: whether they deal with contemporary or historical topics, many of the projects use new technologies, for example to build complex databases and corpora or in teaching and learning, and are exploring new avenues in publishing with open access. These innovative opportunities and media are themselves the subject of scientific inquiry and reflection for the various disciplines in our Faculty. Its members are therefore conducting fundamental research on social change and media development and, not least, on the transformation of scientific inquiry and its own communication.
