Future Prospects

The College will continue to raise awareness of the importance of the gender dimension as an integral component of high-quality research in science and at the university. An important part of its efforts is to explore the qualitative contribution of the intersectional gender perspective to scientific inquiry and the social relevance and acceptance of its findings based on current research examples from various disciplines. With respect to the university’s transfer activities, the EKfG will continue to make visible the contribution of gender research to the dialogue called for at national and international level between science and society and science and innovation.

As far as joint projects are concerned, the College intends in particular to translate the subjects of its two project groups, Effects of Digitalisation and Privacy and Gendering, into successful project proposals. International collaboration and internationalisation of the EKfG research programme will be strengthened by making full use of cooperation with the winner of the Anneliese Maier Research Award and intensifying cooperation with gender researchers and their international contacts in the UA Ruhr. The intention is to also utilise interfaces with the College’s research policy activities.

An important step in this direction is intensifying collaboration in research and promotion of junior researchers within the frame of the initiative Gender Research at the Universities of University Alliance Ruhr (GeFoR). It is also intended to render the compentence of the alliance in the field of gender research visible through further joint activities.
