The Department of Civil Engineering can look back on another successful year of research in 2014. External funding has increased significantly over the past years, primarily from the DFG, EU and federal ministries. Research and development agreements with industry often have a very regional context and therefore reflect the Department’s strong roots in the region. Research in the ten departmental institutes ranges from urban planning and climate protection to understanding materials on the very smallest scale.
