Nanosciences

CENIDE continued to expand its national and international activities in 2010 and 2011:

  • A photo exhibition entitled “NanoVation”, which brings together science and art at the nano level and includes pictures that originate largely from the CENIDE laboratories, has been shown successfully in various international venues since April 2011. The former President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Christian Wulff, opened the exhibition in Tsukuba, Japan.
  • In October 2011, the University of Tsukuba in Japan and the University of Duisburg-Essen signed a cooperation agreement relating to nanosciences.
  • CENIDE member Professor Claus M. Schneider was appointed the first professor of the University Alliance Metropolis Ruhr (UAMR).
  • CENIDE was represented at various exhibitions, e. g. at the DASA “nano!” exhibition as well as on board the MS Wissenschaft, a travelling riverboat of science exhibits.
