Empirical Research in Education

  • Prof. Dr. Elke Sumfleth received the Medal of Honour of the GDCP (Society of Didactics of Chemistry and Physics) in 2010.
  • Prof. Dr. Sabine Fechner was awarded the GDCP Young Researcher Prize in 2010 for her dissertation, which she wrote in the DFG Research Unit “Teaching and Learning of Science” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Elke Sumfleth.
  • Dr. Mathias Ropohl (Sumfleth working group), Dr. Annett Schmeck (Leutner working group) and Dr. Bettina Noack (Kammler working group) each received an award for the best dissertation of their faculty in 2011.
  • Dr. Svenja Mareika Kühn (van Ackeren working group) was accepted into the Global Young Faculty in 2011.
  • Iwen Kobow (Walpuski working group) received the GDCP poster prize, and Helena van Vorst (Sumfleth working group) was awarded the poster prize of the Empirical Pedagogical Research Working Group (AEPF) in 2011.
  • Theresa Dicke (Leutner working group) received the Best of JURE Roundtable Award in 2011 at the JURE conference.
  • The “Kanu – Gemeinsam weiterkommen” (Progressing Together) project (led by Ullrich Bauer) was awarded the 2011 Health Prize by the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
