The main focus of research at the DTNW is surface modification of natural and synthetic fibre-forming polymers using both physical and chemical procedures. In this kind of surface modification, the behaviour of the bulk material remains the same, while the chemical and physical properties of the surface can be adjusted to meet specific requirements.
