Biomedical Science

The interdisciplinary alliance of natural sciences and medical research will continue to be an important foundation for the planning of large-scale joint research projects. The first joint professorships for the Main Research Area have already got off to a successful start, with Clinical Proteomics and Chemical Biology forging an important link between the fields of medicine, biology and chemistry. Work is also in progress on restructuring and expanding the Core Facilities, with the aim of achieving optimal use of the available technologies. To help promote young scientists, an interdisciplinary graduate school for Biomedicine is to be set up alongside the existing research training groups as from 2010.
