Chemistry

Since its foundation, the Faculty of Chemistry has enjoyed a good network of internationalconnections. In addition to many (often invited) presentations by the faculty’s professors atinternational conferences, its young scientists are encouraged and supported (also financially) to complete part of their studies abroad. Bachelor and Master theses in Water Science are traditionally often conducted abroad. Funds have also been made available to support Ph.D. students in actively presenting their findings at international conferences. In September 2008, the faculty organised thebinational German-Ukrainian Symposium on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology for morethan 150 participants. The faculty is host to some 30 exchange students, postdoctoral scientists and professors from abroad every year.
